I started to learn canning and preserving food when I was a kid; hanging out in my grandmother’s kitchen while she and her sisters chatted and made jars and jars of pickles. Later I snuck into the basement to see many colorful pots of carrots, green beans, tomatoes and other goodies from the garden. It was a lesson learned at a young age - growing and storing it myself saves money and tastes like grandmother's love.

I focuses on storing and preserving food, as well as recipes that use the foods you have preserved. This site is the go-to resource if you want to learn how to stock up all that extra store-bought basil so it doesn't spoil before you have a chance to use it. Want to make your own frozen soft pretzels so you don't have to rely on pretzels in the store. You can also find that sort of thing here.
